IHNA Staff:Day Center


Director: Sarah MacDonald

Sarah MacDonald first became involved with IHNA in 1995 and has served in many capacities, including Case Manager. On June 1, 2009 Sarah assumed the duties of Executive Director at IHNA. She is a graduate of the College of Charleston with a BS in Psychology and recently earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Sarah has been married to Georgia State Trooper Matt MacDonald since June 2007.

Administrative Assistant: Christopher Goodson

Chris is the most recent addition to the team here at IHNA.  Having just graduated from The Ezekiel Project School of Evangelism,  he moved back home to North Carolina, but it wasn't long before he moved again.  Chris has recently relocated here to Augusta to help keep the office tasks running smoothly and to bring the technological side of IHNA to a new level.

Bus Driver: Candace Murphy

Candace Murphy is the IHNA Bus and Mini-van driver. She moved to the Augusta area in 1991 and is the caretaker of her mother. Candace enjoys the outdoors, fishing, camping, karate and wood burning. She is a Veteran of the U.S. Army and also caretakes her six dogs.

Vista Worker: Jeanne Northrup

Jeanne Northrup began her VISTA service in May of 2009. She and her husband, Bob, moved to the area in 2003 to be near family. Jeanne earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Webber College in 1996. She brings many years of experience workin in not for profit communities. Jeanne had a son and a daughter that have blessed her with 4 grandsons and a beautiful granddaughter.

CDS Administrative Coordinator: Nikki Pressley

Nikki Pressley began working for IHNA as the Administrative Coordinator at the Children’s Day Shelter in 2005. She has an Associates in Early Childhood Education and a BS in Human Services and Management. Nikki brings with her 15 years of experience working with children and has been both a foster and adoptive parent. She is very active in the community and many community projects, including Prevent Child Abuse Augusta. She also serves on the Augusta Technical College Early Childhood Education Advisory Council. Nikki has a 13-year old son. Together they enjoy music, hanging out in book stores, and traveling. Nikki also enjoys cooking and singing.

CDS Foster Grandmothers:

-Mrs. Sadie Jefferson
-Ms. Evelyn Spencer

Mrs. Sadie Jefferson has been a beloved Foster Grandmother at the IHNA CDS since August 2000. She has provided nurturinSg and companionship for many children over the years. Mrs. Sadie enjoys cooking, dancing, and playing Bingo.

Ms. Evelyn Spencer comes to IHNA through the Senior Corps’ Foster Grandparent program, which has been a part of for 14 years. She began working at IHNA’s CDS in April 2008. She says that is a pleasure everyday “getting up to come and see the babies”. Ms. Evelyn has two grown children, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She love to attend church and spend time with her family eating out.
